So I enjoy Cleaning my Car. As most of you'll know, with cleaning a Car, there is almost always a lot of Water involved. Due to this your shoes, always seems to get wet whilst in the process of cleaning the car.
For this specific reason, I have 2 or 3 pairs of sneakers, that I use specifically when I clean my Car.
These sneakers were at one point top on my list, however with time and wear they moved down the line as newer sneakers were purchased the older ones became less popular.
I am going somewhere with this scenario, so please bear with me :)
I have to add that I am a sneaker fanatic and almost all my sneakers that I purchased are we're unique in a way, thus the reason I bought them.
I like being different and when it comes to my sneakers, I apply the same principle.
So I finished cleaning my car and then before I go into the house, I normally take off my shoes, as I don't walk through the home with wet shoes.
When I took off my shoes, I noticed my socks were wet. I looked a bit closer and realised that the sneaker had a bit of a hole and thus the water was entering and causing my sock to be wet.
Even though this was the case, I still kept the sneakers as I was very attached to them and only used them when I would wash my car @ home.
Each time thereafter I would wash my car, I wore the same sneakers & again my socks would get wet, however I was not willing to part with these sneakers as I was so attached to them & have had them for a few years already.
In Conclusion, I was holding onto something that was not functioning properly, due to wear, not that it was not a good product, it had served its time, it had given me value for my money, however I did not wanna let go of them.
Today I washed my car again, wore those same sneakers and when I was finished, I took them off & I clearly heard the Lord speaking to me. He said, Shawn, how can I bless you with new if you are holding onto the old.
The similarity to this is that there are things in our lives, we know that they are not functioning properly, they tend to work, however have already been worn out and have no more worth or value in our lives.
We however still hold onto them, due to the fact that we are comfortable and have gotten so use to it, that we ok.
Truth be Told, God has New Things in store for us.
So today I wanna encourage someone, let go of the Old, God Has New in store, when we decide to let go.
I have thrown those sneakers in the Garbage, as a sign to the Enemy, that I'm throwing away the Old & I'm ready for the New.
This Revelation might be simple, however will produce Profound Results when we apply it to our Faith & Christian Walk with Jesus Christ.
Thank You for taking time to read My Blog.
God Bless
Shawn
