Thank you Marlene for the person you are a friend indeed when i need someone to help you never refuse as a student at Rlabbs i see that you are a grade r teacher and a religous person im glade to be at the class i learn a lot about blogger and facebook and look foward to be here next year

Blogg about Pastor Sammy

I met Sammy at RLABS and he seems to be a people's person, friendly and very talkative. Although he is not very much educated, he was able to uplift himself by starting his own business, something that we are unable to do without God's grace. To my surprise he is also a Pastor in his church which you could not have imagined without him telling you so, and he is a very respectful person. I have made great friends at RLABS and the course is fulfilling throughout. I would like to continue next year through the Grace of God. Sammy also mentioned that he likes facebook, because he can communicate with his friends and family and advertise his business and oh yes, whoever wants to get married you may call Sammy, because he is a married officer too.

My Experience at the beginners Social media class

Dear Fellow Moira Could I inquire from you how you experience the past four months at Rlabs.I felt there were highlights aswell as not so exciting times. How one approach this class was really important. If you came inially to learn then I know we would have succeeded in this endevour. I,Trevor Allen le Roux, really benifitted big time on all the different social networks. Face book is interesting and a person can achieve so much through that medium. How you could add and tag pictures or characters really are impressive.

Lucinda

Lucinda loves stealing other peoples tweets and she cant seem to get enough;-D>>>> she says facebook is not that interesting because facebook has pretty much alot of fake people etc....she also has mxit another social networking service where you could meet new people...social media has taken her deep into social network where it has taught her about all the basic strategy there was to know. she also wants to thank RLABS for teaching us about social media and hope to see her class again next year Gd willing.

JANINE

Janine is a person who like to be on twitter because she likes to re-tweet and I am a witness to it because she always re-tweet other people tweets and stuff and she always have the most weirdest status messages. She like to laugh a lot and always has a smile on her face even though she feeling down at times I am glad that I have her as a friend she is a very friendly person. She is also on facebook and bbm and changing her status message every 4 to 5 minutes.I think that she only join the class for fun because she knew most of the things that we learnt about. She did however learn a few new things.

interview danielle scheepers

Danielle scheepers she as a person learned alot at rlabs did not know anything when she arrived here at rlabs. for her its interesting learning more each week and the best part for her was meeting new people each and every week she is looking forward for next year class and hoping to meet more people and to see her class mates again. She just want to thank rlabs for helping us nd having the patients with everyone .Thank you to each and everyone.. she is goin to miss you guys .

Sefton's Journey @ RLabs

Sefton's experience at RLabs. At first he felt nervous and unsure, but, as the classes progressed he became a bit more confident. He also found it interesting to lean about the different facilities for communication via social media. Sefton found all the lecturers to be very patient and absolute experts on what they conveyed to us. "It has really been a very good experience to have been exposed to all the information on how to use the various methods of communication" he says. To him, at the end of the day it has been a good experience which will stand him in good stead for the future. In closing he says, "I sincerely commend RLabs and their staff for the big sacrifice they make for the community."

the journey of ELAINE SWAIN

TO Day i am at rlabs and its the last class of the year . i am going to interview one of my class mates to see how she found the class there here at rlabs. Aunt Elaine found this class very interested she enjoyed every week and did not want stay out of class .it was good and everyone at rlabs was very help full .she has also learned a lot and looking forward to next year class to learn more and more things next year.

Sondezwa Interview

I enjoyed the class here at RLabs.I will come back to the class next year .

cathy rlabs interview.

cathy, said it was a great privillege coming here and would also come back again; would like to thank the staff members for their friendlyness and patience.

Jessica"s experience in social media

Jessica thanks God for the wonderfull opportunity. It was in his plan to have us all here,to prosper, and she can testify to that. She went for an interview last week because she has access to Email, and she got the job. She also wishes to thank the facilitators, that they sacrificed their time to teach us. I"ve learnt quite a bit and will definitely be implementing what I"ve been taught, she said in conclusion.
hows is your love life my dear

It's only just began

Today marks the last day to a lifetime of skill and knowledge gained. When I started the class, I thought I had everything I need, knew everything I needed to know. But I was so wrong, realizing that there was more to Social media platforms than having an account. With the knowledge, I can now assist someone that's not as advanced as I am :) So many times we take things for granted but it's those very things that enrich our lives, only to make us better people, not only for ourselves but for others even more so.

So with a heart filled with gratitude, I'd like to thank Monique Ross, Terence Hendricks, Wendy Jeffries and Suzanne Smith. And all the co-facilitators.

God richly bless you all.

20 Weeks Later

20 weeks later

Today is the final day attending the sessions at RLabs getting to grips with social media and now it is time to exercise the skills that we  fellow colleges have been taught and share with whoever it is who wants the information.
I have made some new acquaintances over the past weeks and hope to continue within the group in the coming sessions of 2013 which I am sure will be worthwhile looking forward to.
We will all be graduating on the 4th Dec 2012 and I am thankful to have made it this far.

Thank You all at RLabs and all my fellow learners.

THANK YOU RLabs

HELLO EVERYONE I AM AMEERA PETERSEN
as most of you guys know . but the real reason why i am blogging now is to thank RLabs very much for everything they have showed and done for me. It really have helped me a lot to tell the truth i really didn't know a thing about blogging , twitter , gmail or anything else for that matter . coming here to RLabs helped me out a lot but i already said that . Just being here around all this happy people just makes my day like we say here at RLabs a 10 .So i just want to say THANK YOU ......... and i will really miss this class so much (sad face)

Mom 5.0

Drawing closer to the end

It has been two weeks since we last seen these Ladies and realised that there are only two weeks left for the Mom 5.0 class yet these women continue to show immense excitement and curiosity. In preparation for Saturday past we struggled to come up with a session that would satisfy their enthusiasm and curiosity eventually we decided to allow Moms to do what they do best Talk about themselves. We kicked started the session with a 'normal check-in' individuals were to rate themselves from 1 to10 most women mindful of the fact that we drawing closer to the end of their course took the opportunity to shift the focus from themselves to express their gratitude towards Rlabs for granting them with this life changing opportunity. The topic that we covered was Info graphics an application that was built by a well known company called Intel this application serves to compress the individuals active participation on the various social media platforms in a form of a graph. The ladies were really fascinated by the colourful interface in contrary grew alarmed when they were not able to access their information, immediately they clicked on their open tabs and interacted on their different social media platforms with the hope that their graph would pop up. As a co- facilitators it has been truly amazing to witness how comfortable yet confident these women have become showing absolutely no fear to tackle the digital WORLD:).

"There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something you do it only when it's convenient, when you committed to something you accept no excuses only RESULTS" by Kenneth Blanchard

It is evident that our MOMS have shown nothing but commitment:)

R labs - My school of hope

Throughout the years i have avoided learning about computers relying on my late wife to keep contact with our children and friends and passing on all the news to me. Now that i am on my own, RLabs has become my school of hope, teaching me social networking and giving me easier and quicker methods of keeping in touch with my children, a married daughter and a married son who lives in wales. The other son fortunately still lives at home and i can just shout at him.

Unemployment

Unemployment in our community
Unemployment is one of the major contributors to the instability in all the important spheres of our community and the spin-offs causes so much devastation in the lives of people both young and old.
As is evident form this picture the youth have a hard time everyday coping with the day to day struggles and subsequently resort to undesirable activities causing harm to themselves and those around them.

R Labs is proving a spring board to the young to overcome this problem
by educating and advising on important subjects that will improve the chances
of those who accept these offers.

Children is my passion and my belief is that all children must be treated equal.  Working with children means educating them and providing them a safe and secure environment. I never new when I started at the age of 17 that children is my love of my life even though I only had 1 child.  I dedicated most of my life to the company that I work for and still doing it at present.  In the past I took most of my work home at night and that means serving burnt offerings to my daughter due to forgetting that I had food cooking on the stove, but it gave me pleasure and I knew what I wanted out of life and what I am busy trying to achieve.  I gained so much experience due to observing and trying it out for myself.  I am a bookkeeper, fundraiser, administrator,
grade R teacher, supervisor and if my cook is absent I must cook food for 120 children.  It gives me great joy in what I am doing and I will keep on doing it until I retire.  I had a food fair on Saturday 27th October 12 and I am busy planning a trip with my grade R's to Hendon Park as their farewell and at the same time I am busy planning a concert with the children.  And at the end of the day I go home fulfilled.
When i started here all i wanted to do was to understand what it meant to be computer literate, well i am not there yet but thanks to the expert facilitators at r labs i am getting there.Looking forward to all the remaining sessions.Thank you R labs.

An amazing co-incidence

On Saturday night at 23:00 myself and Stephanie took my husband to work in Strandfontein. On our way back while driving we saw a stray maltese poodles running on the side of the payment.
It was windy and cold and it was very clear to us that this doggy was unable to see properly. As he was running he went against the payment and then almost fell into a drain.  Lucky the drain had a lid on with thin openings.  Stef stopped the car and said that we need to get this doggy into the car.  Oh my word I thought, this dirty dog.  She picked up the dog and put him onto her lap and started rubbing him.  Lucky it was clean . Immediately the doggy felt relaxed and secured.  We took the dog to the SPCA and phoned the call centre asking if we can book this stray dog in.  They called back and said that a gentle man will open the gate shortly.  When the gentle man came to the gate he looked very familiar and stef also recognised him.  As we went inside we introduced each other and discovered that the gentleman was a underdeacon in our church.  He booked the doggy in and chatted a while and left.
Stef felt relieved and after an exhausting day we went home and to bed. The next day which was Sunday Stef said that she wondered how this doggy was doing and on Monday morning she received a phone call from a lady thanking her dearly for finding her beloved dog.  He was very old and blind, but the wonderful part of this was that this lady also belongs to the same church and she was the sister in law of the gentle man (underdeacon) that booked the doggy in.

my experience@ rlabs

Having a blast @ rlabs, you never to old 2 learn.staff @ rlabs are truly blessed.would recommend anybody old or young to this academy.

Steps to learning at Rlabs

Whenever I find my way to Rlabs it is with a sense of urgency and nostalgia. Urgency because I know that the facilitators and my fellow students are all putting of themselves into the learning process to empower others.
Nostalgia, because of knowing that the facilitators came through a process of learning and adversity and became better people.
The next process would be to empower others where we would be able to facilitate others.
This journey was exciting and mind-boggling because you get to know your fellow colleagues, their dreams, fears and challenges that they overcame.
Wish all succeed and that it would be an continuous, happy, social media journey.

Today's a new day

Today's a New Day

Today is my new day. A day where mercies are new and where God's faithfulness to me has become more real than ever before. So many times when we in a situation, we forget who God is and why He is, because we concentrate on how deep we are in our situations. We ask God so many questions when we should be praising Him through our circumstance. Why do we complain if God says He will take us through the storm, when He is Jehovah Jireh, our provider, when He says I Am. Trust and believe and it will be so.

I'm overwhelmed and feel so blessed knowing God still proved Himself  faithful. He is the alpha and omega, He knows the beginning from the end. And because He knew my beginning, He knows my end.
I celebrated my 67th birthday recently and so everyday that survive I will seize and utilize with all I have to give for as long as possible by the grace of God and the added encouragement by those around me.

life is very fast

Life is very fast, if you don't keep up, life will go past you and you will stay behind.  When you see how the children operates the cellphones, computers and they are able to teach you as an adult. It is amazing!
You become so much dependent on you children's knowledge and abilities.

learning new things

The saying is true: you never to old to learn new things.  Yes I enrolled me into something new that  is teaching me how to twitter, facebook and all these new networks.  This is all thanks to RLABS.
Great people, helpful, very friendly and so much patients.  Terence reminds me of an old flame of mine. I wonder sometimes how much patients a person can have with someone that takes his/her own time to do things and what are the thoughts of the person that teacher's you.  I take my hat of to those  people with patients. RLABS people, you showed me how to be patient with the olden goldies.

3 Minutes, 10 People, 1 Common Interest

All we had was 3 minutes, 10 people to meet and to get as much information as we could about the person opposite you. Class was buzzing as every 3 minutes you had to move to meet your next "date".

There were two gentlemen in particular I enjoyed meeting. They have lived their lives as fulfilled as I can imagine. I found out that one gentleman was a musician and enjoyed writing. The other was in Education for all his life and is passionate about the Arts and Drama, in Education. Both gentlemen are warm and respectable and seem content about the life they have already lived but they far from becoming complacent.

Gods greatest gift

Bradley had became a father for the second time and i want to congratulate him and his wife.I wants him to know that a child is a gift from our Lord Jesus Christ and a blessing for the house. So many people do not appreciate  the gift of having children and abuse their kids in various ways. But to know that the Word say we          must became like a child to enter the kingdom of God. Children has a way of forgiving no matter the       circumstances and that is a good thing because they do not let the past get a hold on them like grown ups.

unique experience

when  I  first  came a to  Rlabs I   hesitated   not  knowing  if  I  will  make  the  grade   not  that  I    am
familiar  with  computors   but  with   the  aid  and  assisstance  of  the  friendly  and  helpful  staff  I   think  that  I   should  be  able  to  make  the  grade....

SOCIAL REVOLUTION

I had a wonderful time last week in class, went on speed dating for the very fist time.I've met some interesting people within our class.First of all i like to acknowledge the BORN AGAIN CHRISTIANS its nice being in one class with u . First of all u will never no someone and what they capable of unless u get speak to them.

CLIVE and CHARMAINE  are very interesting people, they actually doing a wonderful work called MISSIONARIES;working with  kids keep up the working for the LORD.

DELMARINE surprised me when she told me she was a dressmaker and gardener.I thought she was just an ordinary housewife and i think she can still play softball to keep fit.

In the class is someone who loves his family and family is very important to the LORD so MARSHALL do what u doing spend time go out with your family while u got the strength and money to do so cause lots of children go astray because of parents being to busy with their own things.

TO all the married people please give your advise to the world out there to make it better place because our children is suffering.

RLABS : Speed Dating

Last week i tried Speed Dating for the first time. Not to meet someone for a relationship, but to meet people and as friends. It was very interesting and what i really learnt was not to look at people at face value. When you take the time to speak to someone and listen to what come out of there mouths, that is the time you really get to know them.

I met alot of interesting people, but the ones that stood out for me was Delmarine, Charmaine and Clive.
Delmarine is married for 42 years, WOW, that is truly an achievement , i asked her whats her secrete, i would of traded mine in a long time ago LoL. She is a line dancer teacher, whatever that is, she does gym gardening, can someone make me understand that please

I met a husband and wife team, they were the outstanding, Clive and Charmaine are married 34 years with 3 sons, they travel all over South Africa, the reason for that is,they are missionaries, there ministry is to work with children, Clive started in 1973 and is still doing it today, that was truly amazing to me, in the times and the world that we are living in today, with all the abuse that is happening to the children, it is wonderful to hear that there are people still out there still dedicated to love and devote there live to children, striving to give children a better life and a hopeful future. i salute this couple that i met and got to know better, there is still love in this dark we are living in

I will definitely try speed dating, just hope that the time will be a bit longer next time.

Rlabs Buddy"s

On Aug 21 I met 3 people at Rlabs in the social media class. We learned interesting facts about the people in the class. Carmelita lives in Bridgtown and attend the AFM church. She is mad about movies and in her days played netball. Carmelita cannot drive so she get a ride with Julian to class. Two other guys I met were Julian and Marshall both having a outgoing personality. Marshal spent most of his life growing up in Stellenbosch but now resides in Bridgetown. He is married and have three daughters and just adopted another child. Julian is mad about sport and is a soccer fanatic.Julian is a warehouse controller and have one son. It is great meeting place so I will encourage you out there to join our class our facilitator is great and the time flies.

LOVE OF GOD

Love of God

God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but past that he has eternal life

God wants the world to be saved. But despite all these efforts, people still do not love them. man is always looking how to kill and destroy its weapons next creating mass destruction like nuclear weapons, chemical and biological Now just to destroy his neighbor.

Dont forget ever that we are all the same and we have the same ancestors.

meeting new people

I enjoy classes on a Tuesday evening iv learned a lot for the pass few weeks.i don't know must about networking but iv come to learn a few things.i haven't been here last week for the speed dating session so i cant write anything about anyone but there one lady iv come to learn about when i started here its

DANIELLE:she is a person always have something silly to say she makes me laugh and gets the best out of me.
she likes socializing ooh and very straight forward and speakers her mind if its the right time and place.she plays netball for Bridgetown and unemployed at the moment not married has a boyfriend and she has a loving Amiena that she adores.
my reason for writing about here is because she became my friend and i wasn't here last week to write about anyone else.

The three most amazing people

Last week on the 14/08/2012, on Tuesday, I had my first experience about speed dating. When I started with this I had no idea what this about, but I actually met three amazing people. The first person was Jackie, she looked so bright. She was a very quiet person who enjoyed reading books, spending time with her family and going to the gym.

The second person name was Melissa-Leigh she enjoyed laughing and  sharing a joke, she enjoys outdoor life, such as mountaineering, spending time on the beach and lying in the sun. She simply adores window shopping and socialising with people.

The third persons name is Shanaaz, she has a good sense of humour, always  cheerful, she enjoys reading, swimming and is employed as a admin clerk.
Last week I was introduced to the concept of speedating which I found interesting, but not for me I think. Three people stood out for me out of the ten I met.
Person one enjoyed the outdoors and hiking like me.
Person two sang in a choir and enjoyed classical music.
Person three prefered motorcars, walking in shopping malls, cellphones and by her own addmission was an impatient person by nature.

I think that speedating can be usefull for people who do not have a soc lives,do not belong to clubs, or don't

A face with a name

Last week i had a wonderful time,  we did speed dating and i met some interesting people.
Some of us were a bit shy and others were confident and its all about meeting new people and I got to meet some lovely people.
 It was great fun..

If You can Dream it, You can do it

At first it seems a futile exercise but as I started speaking and interacting with my fellow classmates
I realized what potential and talents are gathered in one room.
Cliff a gentleman that if I didn't speak to him I would not have got the impression that the gentleman is of age and just enjoying his pension. What a surprise when I discovered that Cliff is in fact very active in the community being a personal trainer and would give any classmate a run for his money if it comes to fitness. Go for it Cliff, you made me realize again that you don't judge a book by its cover
I was also very fortunate to have had an interaction with Saied whom I admired for his will power to succeed. Here is a man who could by just tasting coffee determine whats wrong with a coffee machine. He is embarking on a journey that I feel he is going to be very successful. Best of luck with your future ventures.
Melissa was another lady that I had the privilege to have met. This strong determined person who work in the community and have a strong personality would really make waves very soon that is if she hadn't done it already.
To blog about only three persons in the class was really a constraint because there is so much to say about a lovely, talented lot of colleagues who just need the necessary encouragement to succeed in what ever they do.
My personal motto  " If you can Dream it ,You can Do it " would apply to the majority of my classmates.
Here I think of a young man who is unemployed but could be a successful golfer. At the time of blogging he was already on a 4 handicap
A young lady who have a passion to travel and looking for the necessary break to venture into unknown territory

interesting people

last week was the first time I did something like speed dating it was all new to me because I am  not much of a chatter box I am a shy girl and mostly to myself so I enjoyed the speed dating game because  meet wonderful people and interesting last week  I meet a wonderful girl  who would of known she was a single mother and unemployed I found her very interesting because she always have a smile a her face and is friendly she was laughing the whole time when we had our 3minute chat which was funny .I guess you should not judge a book by its cover rather open it up and read what inside.

SPEED DATING

last week during our class at the Rlabs,I learnt about speed dating, meeting different people, getting to know them well and i had fun because some of them were funny,we interacted very well,I was willing to meet the whole class but the time was not enough, but eventually I will get to know them,I also met this interesting person that has made me smile, she cooks and is a single parent, she designs her own jewelry,I also met someone that is very talkative that likes going to the beach and for long drives, the third person i met loves karaoke, singing has kids and is married,I am looking forward to my next exciting class at the Rlabs and my next big step.

IT WOULD BE SO TERRIFIC IF HE COULD SING FOR US HERE AT RLABS, WHERE WE ARE LEARNING TO USE THE SOCIAL MEDIA. THANKS TO ALL THE TEAM AT RLABS FOR THERE PATIENTS AND THERE TIME,  WE AS THE CLASS ARE REALLY TERRIFIC.

FROM MY SELF I HAVE EXPERIENCED FROM RLABS PLATFORM USING SOCIAL MEDIA, THIS GAVE ME STRENGTH TO WRITE MY OWN BLOG.

as a man i found very excitement to be amongst you guys some of you are great  knowing you to night I'm writing just to say thank you Guys Never look back I'm glade to be at Rlabs with you guys some time we laugh struggle in spelling but remember never give up

AN INTERESTING EXPERIENCE

Great Mom
I had a lot of fun meeting new people in such a record space of time. Unfortunately I have left my list of names behind and my memory is not what it use to be. I do however remember Janine who is single, unemployed and enjoying the time she can subsequently spend with her beloved daughter. She mentioned that she is an eager learner and tries to attend whatever courses are available. I subsequently offered her a free 7-week parenting workshop (by The Parent Centre) and without hesitation, she accepted. Thumbs up to Janine for being a great mom who walks the talk.

Oh, and then I also met-up with my husband, Mogamat-Saied. I actually felt nervous and did not know what to say, nor ask of him. I ended-up writing what I know.( I guess he still has the ability to make my knees freeze!)

working moms

Today was a wonderful day I met people from a different area which have beautiful personalities and amazing energy being around positiveness makes me feel good.If life could be like this everyday just imagine how we all would feel just to see that simple smile. Why do we lost the sound laughter its such a beautiful sound. Not even a funeral make them sad the joy and laughter they share while the body was taken to mosque its really amazing I even ask the sister  why she not sad and she reply that her family always full of joy when someone pass on and that is there tradition

Relationship

If you find somebody or someone who is willing to go through hell just to keep your relationship alive and never take life for granted,my relationship was hell but i prayed so my life can turn around,i met a wonderful man he who taught me to be positive and not to be negative, being positive i'v learnt a lot about myself  if it was not for my love one i would have given up hope, we are together for six years and a few months now and we have a wonderful daughter together. We have decided to settle down a build a future for ourselves.

New Acqaintances

Last week I met three interesting people :
(a) Ivan Emroodt is a single gentleman who resides in Kensington, Cape, R S A . He sings in the Cape Welsh Choir, enjoys cooking and does frail care, which I  feel is a very noble

Meeting new friends

I met lovely friends last week.
What interest me is one person making chairs using tyres. I would love to see one of the chairs.
One lady is getting married in October she must be exited.
Two is home executives.
One is completing her matric she have kid.
One is retired nurse enjoying life to the fullest now.

meeting new friends

My experience last week was fun and very interesting. I enjoyed chatting to Ivan, Sharon and Vernon.
Ivan likes to sing in the shower, cooking which is my speciality and he enjoys working with the frail care which was very near to my heart.  Me and Sharon, we both are in the same field working with children and spending most of our time at work.  Vernon is single and he seems to be quite a nice guy.  He is religious, humble, straight forward and he always consider other peoples feelings.
It was very nice chatting to them, because I think that I can learn from them in many ways.

Speed dating wow never done anything like that before, although it wasn't the normal dating thing where you meet the other sex, NO this was about meeting people, different people, different areas, different ages.
we got to share a bit with each other what the other person done for a living and what they wanted in live, the group of people i got to share with was so nice and kind we joked and had fun but even with some people my darkest truths came out. shocking what just 3min getting to know someone can really touch another person.

"The New Adventures of Old Christine"

The  truth about Christine is that she is easily intimidated by having to experiment with anything
outside of her comfort zone. The difference about her though is that she is willing to change this perception by acknowledging the urgency of moving forward. In this case by acknowledging the importance of the use of technology and that it is by far the most effective forms of communication. NOW LET THE JOURNEY BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!

"Nothing in life is to be feared, its to be understood" :)

RESPECT GOES A LONG WAY

My story is how my day was. I really had a wonderful day because i had a trip to Lambert s bay and the drive was tiring. I left at 6am this morning. At first the roads were quite but at around 6:45 it started getting hectic. I was probably about 20 years ago there but wow what an awesome place. Nice and peaceful. The people is really friendly there. Everybody greets and shows respect for anyone. If only it cud be like that everywhere hey.

CHANGE

Change :

Change is as good as a holiday !!!!!!
If we do not change, we will become a stalemate . Change is what you make of it, it can be good or bad, it all depends on the angle you look at it, and the decisions you make. If it does not work out as you planned, do not blame the past, reflect on the decisions you made

missing ambulance driver

The search for the missing ambulance driver in Montague was called off today because of the bad weather conditions. Members of the rescue team, Hikers Network Rescue, to which I belong, spent most of the day searching the banks of the Keisies Rivier for the missing female. Those involved in the search are Metro Rescue, SAPS and Metro divers, Fire dept. and other volunteers. We all work together and comprise Wildernis Search And Rescue (WSAR). The search may continue on Saturday if the weather clears.

Hope is one of the best values you  can give any human being, especially where we live in a world, where so many people has lost hope. We can give people hope by encouraging them, that they can follow their dreams by believing in yourself.

CHOICES AND DECISION

MEGAN PETERSEN

In our daily lifestyle we are faced with alot of choices and making decision that we not sure of.And we just end up making it for the sake of making because we have to but at the end of the day the choices we make depends on the future ourselfs and family.so think clearly and be open minded before making any choices and decisions.

By the people for the people

This concept seem to be self explanatory but not so.
In different communities we might have different views how we
are able to empower and impart ideas
I have a view that we need to dirty our hands meaning we need to get involve
and empower ourselves than share that knowledge with others.
Everybody wants to make a buck but are not eager to share freely.
By the people for the people mean that we as people learning to blogg
should teach others that have no idea of social networking or blogging to
blogg. That would be a start and maybe on a smaller scale
This concept could then be extended  to other areas  like literacy and numeracy.
in the community.
Places can be establish on a smaller scale to empower others less fortunate than us.
Here I am thinking of the physically challenged,.the elderly, the poor or less priviledge..

learning

Hello  my name is Jacky we all sitting in class tonight they are teaching us on how to blog.
This is something new and I am super excited.  I am blogging  yeah....

Learning

The opportunity to learn presents itself in many different ways and forms throughout our life. It does not necessarily mean that your "education" begins and ends at school or univarsity. I feel that personal life experiences are the best and sometimes also the harshest teachers

opportunity

my gratitude and thanks to Rlabs for giving me the opportunity to learn more about social media. as i am still at grassroots level, i'm hoping to excel to further heights.

understanding children

You need to come down to the child's level to learn to understand the child.  Children are copy cats
and learn from each other and adults.  Parents need to be very careful of what they do in front of children.

Many times you as an adult think that the child is naughty and rude and has no manners, but did you really
take the time to observe the child and find out really what the real reason is why the child reacts in a certain way.

Motherhood

BEING A MOTHER: BEST FEELING EVER!!! WHOOP WHOOP! YOU HAVE YOUR UPS AND DOWNS BUT HEY THATS WHAT PARENTING IS ALL ABOUT....

Hope for Change

this is my story by Isaac Bergendal

My name is Isaac Andrew Bergendal born in Wetton Cape in 1945 14th October the very first born  to this family which grew by another 5 siblings in the 14 years that followed.I believe that I was the favourite because I was the first born to both parents' families. After spending my puberty years with my very devout parents in Wetton,Grassypark and finally Bridgetown and I ended my scholastic life at Belgravia High in 1960.
s
I started to work at a shoemaker in Claremont collecting and delivering shoes for most part of my daily routine in the entire surrounding area riding my bicycle up or pushing it up steep inclines and then freewheeling on the way down and being 14 years old it was great fun but because of the low wage that I was earning I had to find better employment and thus I changed jobs 18 months later

Funny we had and still have the same friends but we never knew each back then.Yes i am married for 18 years and we have a daughter named Ziah.Wow I had no idea that raising a teenager would be so stressful ,I was a terrible teenager ,caught on just about everything, yet in secret due to me being afraid of my mother. She was the Hitler in our house.

Today I am a house-executive,hopefully not for long,as I am really missing work.,but right now I am enjoying
life to the fullness.

Ashley Jansen - This is my story

My name is Ashley Jansen aged 23 from Cape Town called Hanover Park, i'm single until the day i get married.

my story goes like this... i grew up in Hanover Park, went to a primary school called Athwood Primary,  was very naughty on primary school they say but grew up very cautious. I went high school at the age of 13 called Mount View High School, tiny guy who wanted to be a cool guy by fooling around with friends & let other people do my school work so i failed my first year Grade 8 but worked hard the next year in Grade 8 & went straight passing right through till Grade 12, smoked weed through a apple on our Grade 12 motivational camp but yet i passed Grade 12.

I was the planner of catching on crap in the crew, I was an occasional drinking & was smoking dagga & cigarettes for the fun of it for round about 5years, so GOD came & changed my life around, i'm a child of GOD, leading a youth that i love so much & enjoying it. I LOVE DANCING FOR GOD, THAT'S MY PASSION & MINISTRY

My story is where i'm coming from & i know where i'm going to... TO BE CONTINUE, BE BLESSED!!!

proud nanna

I have 5 grandchildren eldest being 15 & . youngest 7yrs  y eldest grandchild is a girl she is in grade 9 & as the daughter of a dress designer, she has now started her own line of teenage clothing. 2 boys aged 13 who are avid sportsmen Greg is a WP swimmer & 1st team rugby player luke is a runner & rugby player mathrew is my precious angel because he is slightly autistic & needs a lot of love & attention but is doing well at main stream school alex is 7 & bright. as a button. iam proud of them all.

A Personal Social Revolution

Being a Somatologist by profession and having been introduced to social media was a major challenge. Having mixed emotions about the Social Media world, I had to undergo an "outer body experience". My life hasn't changed completely, it has just become more convenient. One thing I haven't lost and never want to loose is the reality that we still need the old way of communication. I have seen so many people loose  "conversation" because of social media. In a company people will be online either on their phones or even laptops. Technology is where the world is going but we shouldn't loose who we are to ourselves or others.

"High on Hope"

Life throws us all various obstacles and things don't always go as we plan. Sometimes Bad things happen to Good People and Good things to Bad People. What's important is that we get up shake the Dust off & Move on.

I know some might say, it's easier said than done, this is true. However it's very much possible. In my life I have been through a period of extreme drug addiction whereby I was overcome by my habits and did not think that I would ever get out.

I experienced times where I would isolate myself from people for weeks & my only desire was to get high. I had lost all hope in Life and could not see how I was self destructing.

I am not sharing this to focus on my addiction, but in order to Highlight that there is a way out and a Place of Restoration that is found in Jesus Christ. I have personally experienced the bigger the Mess In your Life has been, the more Powerfull your Message will be when You give God the opportunity to work and heal your life.

I am so Greatfull that my journey of restoration has begun. I have a real passion to encourage others who might be in a low place right now, Sometimes it helps just to know that someone else has been there and has come out victorious because of the Faith & Hope they put in Jesus Christ.

Today I wanna say "Thank You" to God for his Unconditional Love that never Fails.
This Love has Caused me to Long For a different kind of "High" & this "High" does not self destruct but rebuilds the ruins of bad choices and bad habits.

In conclusion I would like to say a Special thanks to Rlabs, Cape Town as well as the Grow Academy for being a part of my journey in regards to empowering me with the Tools to skill myself towards my Goal of becoming a Web Developer.

I am very Greatfull.
God Bless
Shawn

It's been just over a year that I've returned home to South Africa from travelling & working in the United States since 2006. I faced some challenges trying to secure a job upon my return home in Mar. 2011.Whilst this could have been a reason to Get demotivated & allow myself to go on a self pity ride, this was not my attitude.

I took a look @ my life as well as what I have learnt whilst abroad and then decided to be an entrepreneur and I started my own little business. I have not made millions yet :) however I have survived honestly.

One. Of the things I realized during this time of change in my life was that I had neglected my schooling years and dropped out of school @ std. 9.

Although I have international experience, I did not even have a Matric qualification. I then enquired about returning to school to complete my Matric. I was really blessed and within a very short period I was enrolled to start my Matric.

I would really like to "Thank" Marlon Parker & Rene Parker from Rlabs who have Made an Investment into my future with regards to me completing my Matric. May God continue to bless You'll as you serve the People and Empower the Communities.
You and your Team are doing a Great work.

I am just about completing my Exams and cannot wait to pursue my next Goal, which is to Study "Web Development".

I would like to encourage someone out there, sometimes we don't understand why things are not going our way or why doors we think should be open are not.

It's helpfull in times like these to take a Look @ our lives and ask God to show us, what it is he wants us to do.

Most times these are times when God is preparing us for Something Better, and it might cost us to do something that we've put off or thought was not important.

So Today I am so Greatfull and inspired to empower myself thru education and believe had it not been for closed doors, I never would have dug deeper into myself and realized the need to do my Part.

2012 Is definitely Gonna be a year of Breakthru for me.
It's already Begun and I know this is Just the Begining.

Thanks for taking Time to Read my Blog.
Gods Blessings
Shawn

i dont know if facebook is for me but i will keep trying who knows how it will end

i use face book to find old school mates and to chat to my family seeing my friends faces and how we all changed is priceless i think face book is a good thing because most of the people share positive info and comments what a leap in technology i remember the days of writing letters to my pen pals and having to wait weeks for a reply thanks  face book

how i find face book

I im very excited about face  book,im not realy a face book fan.I want to tell a person how to feel face to face. But in a way it can be useful at times like when you can not get to that person .You can convey a message or information to people when you out of reach.Facebook can be helpful. You can meet new friends on face book. But at least i got a face book account now

my face book experience

I was very excited when we started opening accounts for face book not that i did,nt have a account but because i face booked from my phone and the screen was,nt that big so i never found it interesting but since i signed in on the lap top face book has been wonderful because everything is so big and visable i really enjoy it now thank you rlab,s that i can make use of your lap tops

facebook

hi ppl facebook is good and join it .

Just me

Facebook can be what you want it to be. I cannot start a conversation with someone on my own, but in this way I can speak about almost anything to anyone. As if we are old friends. For me it is simply amazing. Others may think differently, they have there own opinions. I simply like it.

smiley: the new face(book) out there

There was an expression 'the pen is mightier than the sword'. OLD SCHOOL PEOPLE! The pen's been replaced by the face. Yes. You know, Facebook. That internet-driven social site that lets Joe and Jean soap out there have their say and hook up with all kinds of wierd and wonderful people out there. I regret it's not for me right now. Still prefer face-to-face conversations with people in the same room as me.
