Problems in our community:  Drugs

In my own personal experience in the past few years drugs has been the upper most problem in our society.  Unfortunately I am not experienced in drug taking or selling but I can speak about how it has affected our communities personally.
The sad fact that firstly it gets distributed by our own people.
It is then supplied to our youngsters from a very young age.
I have been around kids that has taken drugs and for me it affects them in so many different ways.
They loose interest in so many different areas in their lives first the addiction, then the social statues goes, their immediate family gets affected by their actions.  Unknown to them, sucked in by the drug  they are sadly loosing themselves to a drug that has life altering changes.  I've a close family member son who was on tic then a neighbours son was selling the drug at one stage and then another neighbour son was using now a neighbours daughter is using.  Whats so sad that one cannot compare any family as being any different to the other.  Whether they are a prosperous or poorly drugs does not ask for any statues. We all have choices give each other that opportunity.

The Solution:

I personally feel that we as a community need to help our children whether they are using or even not using.  Education firstly begins at home I strongly believe that if I'm going to teach my child that he or she should not use drugs firstly it must come from me as a parent, from there it should be administered through our schools or any other institution that is available.  I find that parents need to communicate amongs each other to get and give advice to assist each other.  How we need to solve this current problem.  We can get together bring our kids along ask them also for advise how they feel about what is happening. The How The What etc.

Communication is one of the key factors.
Activities for different age groups keeping kids busy.
Exposing drug dealers within the community by informing the authorities.
Continuous harassing from neighbours about how they feel towards drug dealers.  I'm sure you would not like to know that one of your neighbours is a drug dealer.
When a child or even adult needs help extend your helping hand it makes a huge difference nobody is perfect.
We also need billboards up like others in the area stating drugs is a killer on every street corner maybe just one person will take notice. I would call it in your face action you cant ignore the statements hanging up there you going to read it.
