My name is Bernard Daniel Joseph, i will relay my experience with at RLABS. Last week (28/08/2013) I had interviewed 9 of my colleagues in the Introduction to Social Media class. One of the two minute sessions I had to sit out, due to the unequal number of participants in the session.
What strike me of the speed dating is that it has given us an opportunity to start knowing each other and from where the participants are coming from. I had two minute sessions with the following namely; Shatfir, Karen, Thursten, Edward, James, Zurinah, Zubeidah, Fagmieda and Monique. Each of them were interesting in different ways, however after the third session you could see that the confidence to communicate in the environment of speed dating has grown. some of them were however very moderate but assertive.
Overall the experience were fulfilling, to interact with people from different backgrounds. The one observation that cut across all the interviewees were the need to empower themselves to be relevant in the new age of technology, therefore giving practical emphasis to the social revolution that is being advocated by RLABS.
Well done RLABS for also allowing me to be part of this social Revolution that you are advocating and to confirm in a few years time that indeed I was part of this Social Revolution. A revolution that you currently taking abroad to empower people to be able to communicate. Just hoping that RLABS will be translate this training to be endorsed or under written by the Service SETA or any of the other SETAs or Higher Education institutions that will join RLABS on this journey to socially revolutionize the world and more specifically SA (Western Cape in particular).
