Nothing like the first time

Tonight I'm so nervous! Its my first time. You know the feeling you get when the butterflies start going crazy in your tummy and you're all anxious, well that's my feelings tonight. I knew doing the digital and new media class would be challenging but i never expected that i would actually be doing what I'm doing right now. So clearly this is my first time and its so much more overwhelming than i thought it would be. I am now officially a blogger!

This is my first blog for 2012.I can send a email with out the help of my grand-children,an they are so proud of their Grandmother.My grand-daughter had a baby girl on 7th Feb so that makes me a Great Grandmother

Why I blog

I love to blog.

I`m actually smiling now just thinking of how and what I am going to write. The truth is, i don`t know what is going to flow through my fingers yet I have a story, not one but but many. I have stories and articles stored up inside of my body`s hard drive, the brain as you know it,and it contains the information, images, emotions, experiences that has been gathered for the existing 29 years of my life.

I, as well as others as I believe value our opinions. I feel that I have a value, knowledge, experience that I need to share with the world and when blogging, that is exactly who my audience is. I have the world as listeners, my readers. When I blog I have a voice, I am not silent. I give value to this world. I make a difference. This is my space of creativity where I can reach for the stars. So at the end of this life of mine, I would have been able to touch more people than what I would be able to with my physical hands.

Rene asked me to share with the class tonight why I like blogging as we introducing our academy students to blogging this evening. I thought what a better way to tell my story than simply writing a blog. The aim of this post is to inspire at least one world renown author to be born here tonight so that even through someone here in this little class I will be able to touch the world and so can you. Tell your story.

I'm at RLABS just started my new class Geeky moms I'm very excited to be hear and to build on what I've learn t last year.Looking forward to build new relationships with the lovely ladies in my class.

My 1st Geeky moms session

This is the day that i have been waiting to experience since registration. I am exited as i will now be able to take what i have learnt last year another step further. Me knowing how to use the various tools means me having the power of knowledge. My first morning's been exiting as i'm getting to know new people. We did a short test of the various tools and some definitions were quite funny eg. Wordpress was defined as 'Volkswagen'. I am so looking forward to a fun filled course here at RLabs

Walking with God 2011

I always believed in God but never took the time to get to know Him. Therefor i my life remained empty and i could not understand why. Like so many i felt that God has failed me. End of 2010 i decided to get to know this God of ours. I also wanted to experience what others would talk about and also wanted changes within my life that i saw in others. So 2011 with me, God,Jesus and the Holy Spirit started. I had to get to know them individually to understand. A lot has happened to me this year even up to this point that should have driven me away from God. But i have come to understand that Jesus never promised to take our probs away but He promised to walk with us, to face life with us so we don't have to do it alone. With God, we don't have to understand anything, we only have to believe that He can and that He will cos He wants to for us. Know why Jesus died? He died for us, so we could become friends with God and experience Him the way i have this past way. Jesus is not an access to material things but an access to eternal life.Jesus is also not an escape from life but a journey through life.
My experience:
1)With me it should be about God cos with God it's about me.
2)When i call upon His name, things happen.
3)God does answer prayers.
4)God is greater than anything.
5)We don't have to look far to see God. Look into a mirror, look @ our children, look outside @ the tree, flowers, mountains and you will see God as he has created all.

My story

A year ago, i knew very little about Social Media. At church i was told about classes being offered and i thought..here's my chance to empower myself. @ that time i was not even clued up "facebook". I use to make use of sms's and please call me's lol. Six months later i can do the following...I'm on facebook, twitter, youtube, flickr, linkedin, skype and forsquare. I have done a few blog posts as well. What this means to me... i can relate to internet talks and not avoid such discussions. It has boosted my confidence in a big way. I want to thank God raising me up and also want to thank RLabs academy for the work they do. RLabs academy is a non profitable organisation that empowers people like me that was born before technology.
